FIELD: aerosol delivery devices.
SUBSTANCE: effect is achieved by the fact that the aerosol delivery device, containing a power source, a heating element, a switch connected to the power source and the heating element and between them, contains a processing circuit connected to the switch. The processing circuit outputs a PWM signal during the heating time period to cause the switch to switch the output voltage to and from the heating element to power the heating element. The processing circuit outputs a known current pulse to the heating element and measures the voltage across the heating element between successive PWM signal pulses. The processing circuit calculates the resistance of the heating element based on the known current and voltage, calculates the temperature of the heating element based on the resistance, and adjusts the duty cycle of the PWM signal when the temperature deviates from a predetermined target value.
EFFECT: temperature control of the heating element.
