FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of checking and calibrating on-board receivers of a radio beacon system for instrumental landing of aircraft and radio beacon systems of the decimetre (mobile radio beacon group) and meter wavelength range (ILS). In the disclosed method, a signal with a given value of the information parameter is generated on the radio beacon by summing the output signals of the radio beacon, generated signal is emitted into ambient space in direction of group of aircraft, readings of onboard receivers are adjusted according to specified values of information parameter. Disclosed radio beacons additionally comprise a feeder switch, an adder, a transmitting antenna and a control unit. Radio beacon can operate either in the normal mode or in the mode of checking and calibrating onboard receivers. Selection of the operating mode is carried out using the control unit by supplying its signals to the control input of the feeder switch.

EFFECT: expansion of functional capabilities of radio beacon (localizer, glide path radio beacon system of landing group (mobile radio beacon group) or ILS system), in particular, development of method and radio beacons, providing for the above systems checking, calibration of on-board receivers of aircraft, including simultaneously several aircraft.
