FIELD: physical and chemical processes; electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to physical and chemical processes of obtaining thermal energy from hydrogen and oxygen during electrolysis of water. Cover has cylinder-conical boss with through hole, forming together with housing anode and cathode cavities, anode is made flat and located in the anode cavity, and is connected to the positive pole of the power supply, cathode – in the form of a rod made of refractory material, is inserted into a dielectric rod with an external thread, by means of which it is introduced into the interelectrode chamber through the threaded hole in the housing and is centred in the through hole of the cover, and is connected to the negative pole of the power supply. Dielectric holder of the cathode is configured to adjust the interelectrode distance from 20 to 40 mm, wherein the anode and the cathode are connected to a pulsed power supply with frequency of 500 Hz.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain thermal energy from hydrogen and oxygen by controlling the interelectrode distance with the possibility of controlling the intensity of the plasma-electrolytic process and the possibility of controlling the thermal power of the apparatus.
