FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for producing fresh water from water vapours contained in ambient air. Device contains an open-top container immersed into a reservoir with sea water so that its walls extend beyond the water surface. Inside the container there is a through channel for sea water flow, located between two opposite walls of the container and arranged so that one end of the channel is located at the water surface, and the other one is below with an inclination within range of 20–45°. Cross-section of the channel has the shape of a triangle, the base of which faces the bottom of the container, and the top faces the surface of the water body. Length of the base of the triangle is less than the width of the container in the direction perpendicular to the arrangement of the channel, while the angle between the lateral ribs of the triangle lies within 90–140°. In the immediate vicinity of the above end of the channel in the sea water there is a wave energy converter fixed from the outside to the side surface of the container by means of a fastening device. Container is located at the surface of the water body by floats. In addition to the through channel for the sea water flow, an additional through channel for the sea water flow, identical in its shape and dimensions to the first, is located mirror-like in relation to the central vertical plane, in the immediate vicinity of the first one at its end, which is located above, there is an additional wave energy converter fixed from the outside to the side surface of the container by means of an additional fastening device. In the area of channels intersection, they have a common volumetric part.
EFFECT: increased area of condensation of the device and increased volume of produced fresh water.
