FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of forming a water flow in a water-jet propulsor. In order to form water flow in water-jet propulsor, channels are located in body of rotor of propulsor. Each channel is completely sealed along its entire length, has only inlet and outlet open sections. Channel inlet cross-section area is greater than the channel outlet cross-section area, and each channel is twisted in a spiral from the periphery to the rotor center around and along the rotor axis in the direction opposite to the rotor rotation, in which the rotor of the propulsor located in the water is rotated. When the rotor rotates in each channel of the rotor, water moves centripetally and at an accelerated rate relative to the channel. Water flows obtained at the outlet of each channel of the rotating rotor are caught and directed along the rotor axis.
EFFECT: efficient operation, simplified design and reduced weight of the water-jet propulsor.
