SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a system for identifying and separating chickens by floor in accordance with their feathering pattern, which comprises a separation unit, a sorting unit, an optical unit and a separating unit. System is based on an instinctive reaction of chickens to spread their wings to maintain balance in response to an instant loss of orientation due to a sharp change in spatial movement. Also disclosed is a method of identifying and dividing chickens by sex in accordance with the pattern of their plumage, which is implemented using said system.
EFFECT: invention provides high efficiency during operation.
