SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to incubation of eggs. In the method, the tray contains a number of spaces for accommodating eggs. In these spaces an egg can hatch. Further, the first egg accommodation space comprises, seen from the first egg accommodation space, an inwardly protruding member for supporting an egg in the first egg accommodation space and an outwardly protruding member for supporting an egg in an adjacent egg accommodation space. Said first egg accommodation space contains a passage through which a newly hatched chick can pass through a chute and enter the chick accommodation space located under the chute. Said passage is at least delimited by an inwardly projecting element and an outwardly projecting element. Further, the cage assembly contains space for accommodating chicks to hatch and to feed chicks and a tray located on top of the cage. Said cage has an open top so that chicks can enter the space to accommodate chicks through the passage. Also a stack includes a number of cages. At first, eggs are places in the tray. Then, the tray is placed on top of the cage, and this cage provides space for accommodating chicks. After that, eggs are incubated for the required incubation period until they hatch. Hatched chicks pass from the tray through the passage into the cage that accommodates chicks.

EFFECT: improvement of the tray for accommodating a number of eggs, simplification of the process of separating hatched chicks from shells without the need to handle chicks leaving the incubation chamber.
