FIELD: veterinary science; biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary biotechnology and virology. Described is a method for producing a culture inactivated rabies virus vaccine, involving continuous perfusion culturing of kidney cell line of a newborn Syrian hamster BHK-21 using filtration system with variable tangential flow and regulation of perfusion rate, their infection with rabies virus, virus replication and inactivation of virus-containing suspension with subsequent production of rabies virus glycoprotein.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain an inactivated rabies virus vaccine in industrial volumes with a high concentration of virus-infected cells, a high titre of infectious activity of the virus and high immunogenicity of the obtained vaccine.
