FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dermatology and podiatry, and can be used for treating onychocryptosis. At the first stage, the nail plate is levelled. Then, daily for 2 weeks, the patient performs independent treatment of the area of the inflamed cutaneous periungual fold with an aqueous solution of manganese nitrate. At the second stage, after 2 weeks, the formed necrotized masses of the periungual cutaneous fold are polished and monarda oil or tea-tree oil is applied on the affected nail plate. Then, for next 2 weeks, the patient applies monarda oil or tea-tree oil to the affected nail plate. Stages are alternated in the above sequence until the inflammatory manifestations of the periungual cutaneous fold are reduced to obtain the required length of the nail.
EFFECT: method enables the conservative treatment of an ingrown nail at any stage without a risk of recurrence, complications, cicatricial degeneration, damage to healthy tissue and facilitate the formation of a new nail due to the successive use of manganese nitrate, which ensures necrotization of the affected tissue, and monarda and tea-tree oils, providing antifungal and bactericidal effect.
