METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING REPARATIVE OSTEOGENESIS OF LONG BONES IN ANIMALS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/56 A61P19/00 A61L27/00

Abstract RU 2816808 C1

FIELD: veterinary medicine; traumatology; orthopedics.

SUBSTANCE: method involves a single introduction of a biomaterial into a medullary canal, a fracture point or a false joint. Biomaterial used is a biocomposite osteoplastic material in the form of a suppository of elastic consistency, obtained by dissolving in distilled water at ambient temperature of 22 °C with continuous stirring of sodium alginate until a homogeneous milky solution is formed. After complete dissolution, methyluracil, hydroxyapatite and amoxicillin are added successively in dose of 100 mg every 15 minutes, with subsequent pouring of the obtained suspension into a mold, which is placed in 0.2 M solution of calcium chloride at temperature of 22–25 °C for 48 hours to obtain a composite having a white color and an elastic consistency. Then, under aseptic conditions with a sterile scalpel in a sterile tray, the obtained biocomposite is shaped and sized according to the dimensions of the intramedullary canal and the composite is fully introduced into the medullary canal of the fracture zone or the false joint zone manually or with the help of an improvised instrument.

EFFECT: optimized reparative osteogenesis in animals with guaranteed effect after single use and with possibility of use for reduction of time for consolidation of sluggish fractures, surgical treatment of false joints, prevention of bacterial contamination due to release of active components of the composite directly in the place of application.
