FIELD: X-ray tomography.
SUBSTANCE: for automatic search and correction of the axis of rotation of an object when performing X-ray tomography. The essence of the invention is that a system for automatically searching and correcting the axis of rotation of an object when performing X-ray tomography contains an X-ray source, a device for rotating and positioning the object, a flat panel detector and a computing device, wherein the flat panel detector is configured to generate projection data of the object, and the computing device is configured to: a) obtain projection data, b) calculate the average projection image, c) preprocess the average projection image using linear normalization and scaling, d) two-stage search for the values of the angle of inclination and shift of the rotation axis, e) clarify the position of the object's rotation axis.
EFFECT: providing the opportunity to improve the quality of reconstruction of the internal structure of the object under study.
