FIELD: medicine; pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of pharmaceutics, namely to a vaccine composition for preventing an infection caused by Hendra or Nipah virus in a subject, as well as use of said composition for treating or preventing Hendra infection and use of said composition for treating or preventing Nipah infection. Vaccine composition for preventing an infection caused by Hendra or Nipah virus in a subject, where the vaccine composition contains an antigen of Nipah virus and/or Hendra virus and an adjuvant composition, where said vaccine composition contains an oil phase present in an amount of at least 45 vol./vol.% from said vaccine composition, P-class CpG and DEAE dextran, and wherein said vaccine composition is a water-in-oil emulsion, wherein the oil in said water-in-oil emulsion is a non-metabolisable oil, wherein said subject is a pig or a horse, and wherein the antigen is present in amount of 50–200 mcg per dose. Use of said composition for treating or preventing Hendra infection in a subject. Use of said composition for treating or preventing Nipah infection in a subject.
EFFECT: above group of inventions is clinically effective against Hendra and/or Nipah virus.
