FIELD: nuclear power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering and is intended for use at double-circuit nuclear power plants with steam generators. In the method of operation of the phase transition accumulator as part of a double-circuit nuclear power plant, constant thermal power is maintained, which is given by the phase transition accumulator to feed water due to constantly varying flow rate of feed water through the phase transition accumulator. At that, a control valve is used, which is installed in the feed water path between the direct and return pipelines of the phase transition accumulator, the operation of which is carried out automatically depending on the readings of the feed water temperature sensor, to maintain the specified temperature of feed water before the steam generator and the required increase in the live steam flow at the steam generator outlet.
EFFECT: possibility to provide constant power for the additional steam turbine during the whole process of discharging the phase transition accumulator, as well as increase duration of phase transition accumulator discharge, due to more uniform consumption of stored heat, as well as ensuring operation of the phase transition accumulator at constant thermal power supplied for heating of feed water during its discharge.
