FIELD: radio electronics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio electronics, namely to electrically small antennas, in particular, operating in the ultrahigh frequency range (300 MHz — 300 GHz). Electrically small antenna includes first flat metal layer 2 and periodic system of conducting elements 3 on dielectric substrate 1. There is second metal layer 4 parallel to the first one. Periodic system of conducting elements 3 is arranged in substrate 1 and is formed by an array of periodically arranged metal cylinders 5 oriented perpendicular to said metal layers 2, 4. One end face 51 of each cylinder 5 has electrical contact only with first metal layer 2. Second end face 52 of each cylinder 5 is installed with gap 6 relative to second metal layer 4. Value d of gap 6 is selected from the condition of providing the specified effective value of permittivity.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at solving the problem of simplifying the implementation and achieving reproducibility of a high effective value of permittivity, which significantly reduces the effect of the environment on the operation of the antenna.
