SUBSTANCE: invention relates namely to a method of extinguishing a fire using a vortex fire nozzle, with the formation of a fire extinguishing mixture from flame particles. The method includes a tangential supply of water from a fire hose into the vortex chamber of a fire nozzle, while a vortex flow with a vacuum is formed in the vortex chamber, which provides a vacuum in the container for the materials involved in the flow, the container is brought into the fire flame zone, and the fire flame particles are drawn into the container together with unburnt ash particles, particles of the medium surrounding the flame, particles of non-combustible materials, non-combustible gases. Then they are moved into the vortex chamber, mixed with cold water coming from the fire hose into the vortex chamber.
EFFECT: when heated, the water turns into steam, which, together with ash particles, particles of the medium surrounding the flame, particles of non-combustible materials, non-combustible gases, forms an aerosol fire extinguishing mixture, and this mixture is fed into the forming overpass to give the jet a shape and is directed to extinguish the fire.
