FIELD: electrical measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical measuring equipment and is intended for MAO coating thickness and porosity evaluation in an electrolytic bath based on impedance measurement, and can be used to expand the capabilities of controlling the process of microarc oxidation on pulsed and sinusoidal current, and can be used in machine building and instrument making, aviation, radioelectronic and other industries. Method of estimating thickness and porosity of MAO-coating in an electrolytic bath based on measurement of impedance consists in the fact that galvanic cell impedance measurement is carried out in pauses between oxidation cycles using a device containing a process current source, a digital signal synthesizer, two switches, galvanic cell with two electrodes (anode and cathode), switched capacitor box, switched resistance box, analogue-to-digital converter, control unit and personal computer, frequency characteristics of galvanic cell conductivity are plotted based on measurement results, from which values of resistance and capacitance of coating are calculated using 5-element model of galvanic cell, and connection of resistance and capacitance of coating with thickness and porosity is established by means of regression analysis or empirical way.
EFFECT: high accuracy of estimating thickness and porosity of oxide coatings in an electrolytic bath for any modes of microarc oxidation.
