SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video encoding. Such a result is ensured by determining for encoding one or more video blocks in the video region of visual media into a visual media representation in the form of a data bit stream, the maximum allowable size to which the current video block from said one or more video blocks is allowed to be encoded using a conversion skip mode, so that the residual prediction error between the current video block and the reference video block is presented in said representation in the form of a data bit stream without applying a transformation; and include a syntax element indicating the maximum allowable size in the data bit stream representation.
EFFECT: high efficiency of video encoding.
