SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video encoding and decoding. Conversion is performed between the current video block of the chromaticity component of visual media data and the representation of the current video block of the chromaticity component in the form of a data bit stream, wherein in the conversion process, the chromaticity component residual of the current chroma component video block is scaled based on the scaling factor, wherein the scaling factor is determined based at least on the readings of the brightness component located in predetermined positions.
EFFECT: high efficiency of encoding and decoding owing to reduced cross-component delay when using luminance-dependent scaling of the remainder of the chromaticity component.
