SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video and image encoding and decoding techniques. Technical result is achieved by the fact that determining, for conversion between a video region of video and an encoded video representation, an intraframe coding characteristic of said video region based on the colour format of the video in accordance with a rule; and performing conversion in accordance with said intraframe coding characteristic.
EFFECT: high efficiency of video encoding.
