SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery, and can be used for prevention of postoperative infectious complications in neurosurgical patients in chronic critical condition caused by brain damage. Method involves perioperative antibiotic prophylaxis; additionally, for 2 days before the operation and for at least 7 days after the operation, a basic bacteriophage complex (BBC) is injected in dose of 1 dose 5 ml 2-3 times a day. BBC contains phages active against bacteria – the main pathogens of pneumonia, including strains of bacteria with multiple resistance to antibiotics of different groups, namely: Acinetobacter baumannii, Citrobacter freundii, Enterobacter cloacae, Enterobacter kobei, Enterococcus faecium, Klebsiella pneumoniae subsp. ozaenae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Cutibacterium acnes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, Streptococcus pyogenes. BBC is an active substance in the form of a mixture of sterile purified filtrates of phagolysates in concentration according to Gracia 1×10⁴–9.9×10⁷ PFU/ml, excipient in the form of physiological solution up to 5 ml.

EFFECT: using the invention enables reducing the rate of postoperative infectious complications following planned neurosurgical operations.
