FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and devices for analysing ions by energy, masses, charges using electric and magnetic fields and calculations based on results of analysing density of plasma ions and can be used to determine characteristics of, for example, plasma flows of working substance of process plasma accelerators and plasma engines. In the multicomponent plasma ion density measuring method, the multicomponent plasma radiation optical spectrum is measured to select in the spectrum of the strongest atomic radiation lines of atoms of all masses from the analysed stream, determination of partial contributions of ions of different masses and effective mass of ions, ion flow entering the energy analyser with a retarding potential is subjected to an electric field decelerating the ions to measure the delay curve I=f(Uan), determining distribution function of ions of multicomponent flow by energy and density of ions of multicomponent flow by calculation formula.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining density of ions of multicomponent plasma.
