FIELD: rocket and space engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in refueling tanks of rockets with propulsion units operating on gel-like fuel with powdered metal additive. Proposed method consists in supplying fuel from filling tank into tank in intermittent mode (portions), note here that next fuel portion is fed into tank after gelation of previous filled portion. Preferably, when fuel is supplied to the tank, the filling tank is heated to the temperature of liquefaction of the gel-like fuel. Fuel tank is evacuated between portion feeds. Tank filling is performed in temperature range corresponding to stable gel formation. This reduces sedimentation (volume inhomogeneity of metal suspension in fuel), adhesion and other undesirable effects, reduces content of gas bubbles and inclusions in fuel.
EFFECT: providing reliable further operation of rocket propulsion system at the stage of refueling.
