FIELD: cosmonautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rocket and space engineering and can be used in operation of rockets with propulsion plants with pumping supply of powder metal into combustion chamber of liquid-propellant engine. Method of starting a propulsion system with a pump system for supplying powdered metal into a liquid-propellant engine combustion chamber, comprising oxidizer and gel-like fuel tanks with a powdered metal additive, hydraulic lines between tanks and combustion chamber with pumps providing supply of fuel components to combustion chamber, gel-like fuel viscosity electromagnetic regulator located upstream of the corresponding pump, which is connected to multiphase power supply source and capable of generating a rotating electromagnetic field acting on fuel, tanks pressurization system, viscosity sensors and fuel temperature, installed in the fuel hydraulic line in front of the pump and connected to the switch, and a power supply source, and consisting in supercharging tanks, filling hydraulic lines and cavities of pumps with fuel components, blowing pipelines, start-up of turbo-pump units, opening of start-cutoff valves and switching on of liquid-propellant engine combustion chamber, at that, before starting the turbopump unit, a multiphase power supply is supplied to the electrical winding of the viscosity regulator via the fuel hydraulic line from an external power source, then, onboard power supply unit of propulsion system is started, at that, output parameters of power supply of onboard unit and viscosity of fuel before pump are measured, and when the onboard unit power supply output parameters and the fuel viscosity of the basic parameters are achieved, the fuel viscosity regulator power supply is switched from the external to the onboard one, after which the turbopump unit is started. Prior to starting the turbo-pump unit, the fuel hydraulic main line from the point of its connection with the fuel tank bottom to the inlet of the turbo-pump unit is additionally heated.
EFFECT: invention provides intensification of process of pipeline filling along fuel supply line.
