FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of magnetite powder. Can be used in production of paint coatings, ceramic glaze, polishing compositions, cosmetics, drugs, filler materials, construction materials, ink, can be used as a contrast agent in magnetic resonance imaging, for magnetic powder flaw detection of parts made of ferromagnetic materials in machine building, aircraft engineering and other industries, as well as in production of slurry for wet dressing of oil shale. 60–80 wt.% of iron-containing oxide material and 20–40 wt.% of reduced iron dust fraction. Obtained conglomerate is annealed at temperature of 730–850°C and inert atmosphere pressure of 20–60 Pa.
EFFECT: obtaining powder of magnetite, in which the bulk of particles has size from 45 to 160 mcm, with content of the main component FeFe2O4 of not less than 95% and low content of impurities.
