FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery. Performing an arc-shaped incision of soft tissues with length of 8 cm with installation of a retractor, at an equal distance between the external occipital protrusion and the mastoid process from the line corresponding to the superior nuchal line to the transverse process of the atlas in the right and left occipital region. Posterior cervical lymph node dissection is performed, followed by microvascular decompression of branches of a lesser occipital nerve, an occipital vein and a medial segment of the posterior auricular artery. Lateral segment of a posterior auricular artery with a sympathetic plexus, a vein, a branch of the greater auricular nerve, and a posterior auricular nerve are decompressed. Greater occipital neurovascular complex is approached to expose an occipital tendon of the trapezius muscle along the superior nuchal line. Occipital tendon ring of a trapezius muscle is dissected. Semispinal muscle of the head is separated and its tendon bridge is dissected. Lymph node dissection of a hypertrophied occipital lymph node is performed. Microvascular decompression of the greater occipital nerve and the occipital artery is performed, and the ascending branch of the occipital artery is ligatured and coagulated.

EFFECT: method enables reducing the length of the surgical intervention and the postoperative healing period.
