SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to means and methods of drying tobacco. Rotary drying device for drying of herbal material comprises a reservoir of the drying device, having an inner space for receiving the herbal material, and a driving device for rotation of the drying device reservoir around the rotation axis of the drying device reservoir. Collecting device is made in the form of a channel, which is at least partially open in its upper part and is provided in drying device tank inner space for collection of dried herbal material. Collecting device in the form of a channel is fixed during rotation of the reservoir of the drying device. Collecting device in the form of a channel is asymmetric relative to the plane formed by the axis of rotation of the tank of the drying device and the vertical direction. To implement the method of drying the herbal material, the drying device reservoir, which receives the herbal material, is rotated around the rotation axis of the drying device reservoir. Herbal material dried in the drying device reservoir is collected in a collecting device containing a plate partially surrounding the axis of rotation. Collecting device is not connected to rotation of the drying device reservoir. Collecting device is asymmetric relative to the plane formed by the axis of rotation of the tank of the drying device and the vertical direction. According to the second version of the method implementation, a collecting device containing a curved plate is used, partially surrounding axis of rotation and being asymmetric relative to plane formed by axis of rotation of drying device reservoir and vertical direction.

EFFECT: high efficiency and quality of collecting dried herbal material.
