SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of creating a composite fire-retardant material of a passive fire barrier and can be used to protect a wide range of ship structures, buildings, structures from heat flows. Material consists of a heat-insulating layer based on fibrous silicate materials, held by glass fabric, and two layers of glass fabric with intumescent coatings applied on them, consisting of an elastic polymer composite, connected to each other by means of cross-linking, when exposed to a heat flow. First layer forms a rigid intumescent layer of a silicate composition based on silicon glycerate, and the second layer forms an elastic intumescent coating. Remaining heat flow is retained by fibrous silicate heat insulation retained by glass fabric.
EFFECT: invention increases fire resistance of various objects, internal habitable rooms, ship structures due to the use of various intumescent coatings, which by means of their own reinforcement form a mechanically strong, dense and sufficiently elastic heat-insulating layer of coke foam, and also provides increased time of resistance to thermal action due to composite fire-retardant material consisting of protective heat-absorbing layers, providing long-term resistance to heat flow and, accordingly, longer resistance to fire propagation inside protected premises.
