SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to assess the effectiveness of drug therapy of chronic heart failure. Mononuclear cells are recovered from patient’s peripheral blood before and after the beginning of drug therapy. Rate of oxygen consumption by isolated mononuclear cells is measured in pmol/min. Parameters of the respiratory function of mitochondria are determined in accordance with tables 2 and 3 of the description. Parameter values are compared before and after the beginning of drug therapy. If these parameters increase by at least 1.5 times with underlying therapy, it is concluded that the drug therapy is effective.

EFFECT: method enables to assess the effectiveness of therapy both on the first day and in the long-term dynamics, providing the possibility of its adjustment within one hospitalization, due to the method of determining mitochondrial respiration by measuring the rate of oxygen consumption by mononuclear cells of the patient during treatment.
