FIELD: medicine; X-ray endovascular surgery.

SUBSTANCE: optical coherence tomography is used to determine proximal and distal reference diameters of the target vessel. Stent diameter is selected based on the distal reference diameter of the target vessel. If the proximal reference diameter of the target vessel is greater than the maximum ID of the selected stent, stenting is performed with two overlapping stents. Diameter of the proximal stent should correspond to the average reference diameter of the target lesion: (proximal reference diameter—distal reference diameter)/2. If the value of the proximal reference diameter of the target vessel is less than the maximum internal diameter of the stent, stenting is performed with one long stent.

EFFECT: method enables determining the required number of stents and their dimensions at the preoperative stage, which enables to reduce the length of the intervention and the risk of perioperative complications.
