FIELD: oil refining.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil refining, namely to methods of delayed coking of oil residues for production of oil coke. Method involves heating of alternately operating paired coking chambers of a delayed coking unit (DCU), from which the released light fractions are fed into a fractionating column. Preliminary heating of one coking chamber is carried out with the help of water vapor, and final heating – with the help of coking vapours, which is hydrocarbon vapours with required temperature and supplied to upper part of heated coking chamber from another paired DCU coking chamber, which is in coking mode. Coking vapours are fed into the coking chamber at the required temperature of 400–420 °C, volume of supplied vapours for heating of coking chamber is carried out with control of recirculation coefficient in fractionating column – ratio of amount of pumped out raw material from bottom part of fractioning column into coking chamber to loading of this column by fresh raw material – oil, as well as control of temperature difference on top and bottom, which are on heating of coking chamber. When the recirculation coefficient reaches values equal to 1±2%, temperature is recorded at the top and bottom of this coking chamber, which is maintained by adjusting the supply of the amount of coking vapours during heating and operation of the coking chamber with a temperature deviation of not more than 6% at the top of the coking chamber and not more than 22% at the bottom of the coking chamber during DCU operation.

EFFECT: increased service life of coking chambers, improved quality of coke, as well as elimination of risks of contamination of product with heavy coke dust and increased efficiency of DCU.
