SUBSTANCE: method of determining stresses in a rail string includes determining the reference root-mean-square amplitude of Barkhausen noise at a given point of the rail, which corresponds to the stress-neutral state of the rail string after its introduction into the optimum temperature of fixing and fixing the rail string, then subsequent measurements of the root-mean-square amplitude of Barkhausen noise are carried out at a given point of the rail and determining the current actual voltage value for each such measurement relative to the neutral state based on the difference between the current root-mean-square amplitude of the Barkhausen noise and the reference root-mean-square amplitude of the Barkhausen noise and taking into account the coefficient of proportionality in the dependence of the root-mean-square amplitude of Barkhausen noise on voltage.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of rail track monitoring.
