SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol-generating article. Product contains an aerosol-generating substrate containing nicotine and at least 10% of an aerosol-forming substance containing glycerine and a wrapper arranged around the aerosol-generating substrate and in contact therewith. Wrapper contains a paper layer, which has a ratio of elongations at break in the transverse direction/machine direction CD/MD, which makes from 1.8 to 2.5.

EFFECT: invention enables to provide a visually and mechanically stable wrapped substrate, to provide an aerosol-generating article comprising a wrapper which does not swell when absorbing water or compounds contained in the aerosol-generating substrate, wherein the wrapper is not easily burnt when located near the heating element, provides a fat barrier for fatty compounds contained in an aerosol-generating substrate and does not affect the taste of the aerosol generated by the aerosol-generating article.
