SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol generating article and system, as well as a device for use with an aerosol generating article. Aerosol-generating article (2) comprises aerosol-forming substrate (4) and heating unit (6) configured to heat the aerosol-forming substrate. Heating unit (6) comprises array of heating elements (6a, 6b), wherein each of a plurality of heating elements (6a, 6b) of said array comprises at least one circuit breaker (8). Each of circuit breakers (8) can be made with possibility of individual activation for selective deactivation of some area (A) of heating unit (6) before heating in such a way that when heated, aerosol-generating article (2) selectively heats part of aerosol-forming substrate (4) corresponding to the non-deactivated part of heating assembly (6).

EFFECT: enabling the possibility of selective adjustment of the area of the heater unit used for heating.
