FIELD: smoking accessories.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of controlling an aerosol-generating system, an aerosol-generating system, and an aerosol-generating device for an aerosol-generating system. Aerosol-generating system comprises: an induction heating assembly configured to heat the aerosol-forming substrate; and a power supply unit configured to supply power to the induction heating assembly. Layout for induction heating comprises induction heating element (10) comprising at least one current collector (12, 14), heated by the penetration of a variable magnetic field for heating the aerosol-forming substrate; first induction coil (32); and second induction coil (34). Method includes exciting a first variable current in first induction coil (32) such that first induction coil (32) generates a first variable magnetic field which heats a first portion of induction heating element (10) and controlling the first varying current such that the temperature of the first part of the induction heating element (10) increases from the initial temperature in accordance with the first operating temperature profile. Method further includes exciting second variable current in second induction coil (34) such that second induction coil (34) generates second variable magnetic field, which heats second part of induction heating element (10), and controlling the second variable current such that the temperature of the second part of the induction heating element (10) increases from the initial temperature in accordance with the second operating temperature profile. Second working temperature profile differs from the first working temperature profile.
EFFECT: invention enables to heat one part of the aerosol-generating article without indirect simultaneous heating of the adjacent aerosol-generating article and adjusting the temperature of the first part of the induction heating element to the temperature indicated by the first temperature profile at that moment in time.
