FIELD: aerosol-generating system.

SUBSTANCE: aerosol-generating system comprises: an induction heating assembly configured to heat the aerosol generating substrate; and a power supply configured to supply power to the induction heating assembly. The induction heating assembly comprises: an induction heating element (10) containing at least one current collector (12, 14) heated by penetrating a varying magnetic field to heat the aerosol-forming substrate; a first induction coil (32); and a second induction coil (34). The method includes: exciting a first varying current in a first induction coil (32) to generate a first varying magnetic field for heating a first portion of an induction heating element (10), and controlling the first varying current such that the temperature of the first portion of an induction heating element (10) increases from initial temperature to first operating temperature. The method further includes: exciting a second varying current in a second induction coil (34) to generate a second varying magnetic field for heating a second portion of the induction heating element (10), and controlling the second varying current such that the temperature of the second portion of the induction heating element (10) increases from the initial temperature to the second operating temperature. The second variable current is not excited when the first variable current is excited, and the first variable current is not excited when the second variable current is excited.

EFFECT: according to the invention, a method for controlling an aerosol generating system, an aerosol generating system, and an aerosol generating device for the aerosol generating system are provided.
