FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to coordination and medical chemistry, particularly to novel chemical compounds exhibiting anticancer activity. Disclosed are mixed-ligand complexes of copper (II) with 1H-tetrazole-5-acetic acid and oligopyridine selected from 1,10-phenanthroline, 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine and 2,2'-bipyridine. Said complexes are obtained by a method in which an aqueous solution of copper (II) acetate is added to an ethanol solution of oligopyridine, obtained solution is stirred for 5 minutes, then ethanol solution of 1H-tetrazole-5-acetic acid (H2L) is added, stirred for 5–10 minutes, the reaction mixture is evaporated while heating to 100 °C for 30 minutes for sediment coarsening, which is then centrifuged for 5 minutes at 3,000 rpm, washed with ethanol and dried at 100 °C for an hour, wherein the complexes are obtained at the following molar ratio of reagents Cu2+ : oligopyridine : H2L = 1 : 1 : 1.
EFFECT: disclosed complexes exhibit higher cytotoxic activity with respect to tumor cell lines as compared to standard anticancer drugs, such as cisplatin.
