FIELD: smoking accessories.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a liquid composition based on nicotine saturated with carbon dioxide for use in an aerosol-generating system. Liquid composition contains at least one of water and one or more water-miscible solvents, wherein said liquid composition saturated with carbon dioxide contains less than 1 wt. % of ethanol, not less than 0.25 wt. % of nicotine and not less than 0.5 wt. % carbon dioxide. Also disclosed is a cartridge for use in an aerosol-generating system, wherein said cartridge contains a liquid composition based on nicotine saturated with carbon dioxide. Also disclosed is an aerosol-generating system comprising a liquid formulation based on nicotine saturated with carbon dioxide, and a sprayer configured to generate an aerosol from said carbon dioxide-saturated nicotine liquid formulation.
EFFECT: invention enables to generate an inhaled aerosol providing higher user satisfaction with nicotine compared to aerosols prepared from standard liquid nicotine-based formulations.
