Cartridge for use in an aerosol-generating system comprises a first liquid composition comprising at least one of water and one or more water-miscible solvents, and a second liquid composition containing one or more water-immiscible solvents having solubility in water at 20 °C less than or equal to 100 mg/ml. At least one of the first liquid formulation and the second liquid formulation contains nicotine. Aerosol-generating system comprising: cartridge (20) comprising a first liquid composition containing at least one of water and one or more water-miscible solvents, and a second liquid composition containing one or more water-immiscible solvents having solubility in water at 20 °C less than or equal to 100 mg/ml, wherein at least one of the first liquid formulation and the second liquid formulation contains nicotine; and an aerosol-generating device comprising one or more atomisers configured to generate an aerosol from a first liquid composition and a second liquid composition enclosed in a cartridge.
