SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a liquid nicotine composition for use in an aerosol-generating system, a cartridge for use in an aerosol-generating system and an aerosol-generating system. Liquid nicotine composition contains nicotine; at least one of water and one or more water-miscible solvents; one or more partially water-soluble solvents, not miscible with water, characterized by solubility in water at 20 °C, ranging from 20 to 100 mg/ml; one or more water-insoluble solvents, not miscible with water, characterized by solubility in water at 20 °C is not more than 5 mg/ml. Liquid nicotine composition has a nicotine content of 0.5 to 10 percent by weight, the total content of water and solvents miscible with water is equal to or greater than 50 percent by weight, the content of partially water-soluble solvents which are not miscible with water is equal to or greater than 0.5 percent by weight, content of water-insoluble solvents, which are not miscible with water, is equal to or exceeds 2 wt.%. Cartridge for use in an aerosol-generating system contains the above liquid nicotine composition. Aerosol-generating system contains the above liquid nicotine composition and a sprayer configured to generate an aerosol from the above composition.
