FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurology and restorative medicine, can be used for training and independent food intake by people with upper paraparesis or tetraparesis. Spoon is made of aluminium; the spoon handle has a bend relative to the working part in two planes: horizontal and sagittal. Plastic thumb ring is fixed in the proximal part of the handle; the ring is located on the left for right-handers and on the right for left-handers. Handle has a holder for the back surface of the hand and fingers, made of waistband 2 cm wide, one end of which is fixed near the working part of the spoon after the plastic ring, the other – on the free end of the handle. Handle between the ends of the holder has a bulge in the form of an ellipsoid of a rough material, which corresponds to the dimensions of the user’s hand. Foam plastic or foam rubber is used as rough material.

EFFECT: use of the proposed spoon allows a person with paralyzed upper extremities to take food independently, it serves as a simulator for recovery of the function of the upper extremity, forms skills of using preserved motor capabilities, being a factor of social adaptation, food intake with the help of the proposed spoon forms an ordered polymodal afferent flow, which stimulates regression of neurological pathology.
