SUBSTANCE: invention relates to arc fault detection devices, in particular, in electrical installation. Invention also relates to arc fault protection units containing such a detection device. Device comprises a high-frequency measuring system connected to at least two electrical phase lines of the installation and configured to extract a first signal representative of high-frequency components of electric currents flowing along said phase lines; plurality of low-frequency measuring systems, each connected to one electric phase line of the installation, wherein each is configured to receive a second signal representing an alternating line current flowing along a corresponding phase line; data processing module is programmed to detect arc fault based on the second signals and the first signal.
EFFECT: simplified fabrication of device for detection of arc fault in multiphase electrical installation.
