FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions of chemical substances used in self-contained breathing apparatus on chemically bound oxygen. Starting briquette of the isolating breathing apparatus contains a starting composition, a transition composition and a basic composition. Starting composition is 0.88–2.30 wt.% of the briquette weight. Starting composition contains powdered zirconium in amount of 20–30 wt.%, potassium perchlorate (KClO4) in amount of 10–20 wt.% and barium or calcium chromates (BaCrO4 or CaCrO4) in amount of 50–65 wt.%. Transition composition makes 2.20–3.83 wt.% of briquette weight. Transition composition contains wt.% 2.0–6.0 of amorphous boron, wt.% 60–70 of iron oxide (Fe2O3), wt.% 25–35 of copper oxide (CuO) and wt.% 1.5–2.5 of chrysotile asbestos. Basic composition makes 93.87–96.9 wt.% of briquette weight. Basic composition contains in its composition wt.% 2.0–6.0 of powdered zirconium, wt.% 2.0–4.5 of powdered iron (Fe) with dispersity less than 0.06 mm, wt.% 9.5–20 of superoxide sodium, wt.% 70–85 of sodium chlorate (NaClO3) and wt.% 1.5–2.5 of chrysotile asbestos. Launching composition is intended for launching from a beam of a flame of a percussion type capsule, for example, a Zhevelot capsule, and initiating decomposition of the transient composition, which in turn is intended to initiate the start-up of the basic composition which generates the oxygen required for the user.
EFFECT: self-contained breathing apparatus starting briquette has high operational characteristics during its operation in the IDA cartridge in the temperature range from minus 40 °C to plus 55 °C.
