FIELD: pipeline transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for control of cathodic protection of main pipeline by contact method. Method of monitoring the state of cathodic protection of a pipeline consists in measuring values of protective potentials Un of the pipeline relative to corresponding comparison electrodes at n control points. Control points are located along the pipeline with the specified spatial pitch. Corrosion state of the main pipeline is determined from the measurement results. Values of protective potentials Un on the controlled section of the pipeline are measured m times, where m≥10, at each control point n with a given period of time. Protective potential on the controlled section of the pipeline is measured at one point of the section with a stationary measuring device. Potential difference is measured between adjacent control points with a portable measuring device. Measurements are entered into memory of portable measuring device for further processing together with information on measurement time, position of portable measuring device according to GLONASS and information on potential difference on stationary device obtained via radio channel.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of control over cathodic protection at complex pipeline sections due to lowered required amount of devices and data from them.
