FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: procedure consists in measurement of values of protection potentials Un of pipeline relative to corresponding reference electrodes in n control points along pipeline at specified space step. On base of these values there is determined condition of corrosion in the main. Also, values of protection potentials Un in a controlled section of the pipeline are measured m times, where m≥10 in each control point n in specified time interval, with successive determination of histograms of distribution of measured values Un in each control point n. Further, using plotted histograms, there is determined percent ratio εn of values of protection potential to common number m of performed measurements for values Un. There are plotted histograms of per cent ratios εn for each point n. There are established values εn beyond the specified interval (Uhn…Uln) of allowed values, where Uhn and Uln are high and low allowed values of the specified interval of allowed values in point n. If value εn exceeds specified threshold value εthresh in any control point, there is diagnosed presence of corrosion danger of the main in the given control point.
EFFECT: increased reliability of control of corrosiveness in places of main contiguity.
