METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING CHRONIC VIRAL PROSTATITIS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G01N33/487 G01N33/569 G01N30/72 C12Q1/686

Abstract RU 2819516 C1

FIELD: medicine; urology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for diagnosis of chronic viral prostatitis. Biomaterial is obtained—prostate secretion. Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) is used to determine the amount of herpes simplex virus type 1 and herpes simplex type 2 in the biomaterial. If the total number of herpes simplex viruses of type 1 and type 2 is from 6.16x105 to 294x105 cells/gram, the presence of chronic prostatitis of viral etiology is diagnosed. Viral prostatitis can be established after exclusion of bacterial prostatitis by methods of prostate secretion culture on flora, Androflora and PCR. Patients may be sampled taking into account the history, complaints and clinical symptoms of prostatitis.

EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy of differential diagnosis of chronic viral prostatitis by quantitative assessment of herpes simplex viruses type 1 and type 2 in prostate secretion, analyzed by GC–MS in patients with chronic abacterial prostatitis, which enables to select a reasonable management of the patient and reduce the number of relapses.
