FIELD: feed industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing dry plant extracts used as a fodder additive for feeding farm animals and birds. Method of producing dry extract of dried narrow-leaved lupine seeds for fodder additive for farm animals and birds includes raw material grinding and wetting it in 15% water-ethanol solution for 9–10 hours. Then the prepared raw material is transferred into an extractor, wetted with 25% water-ethanol solution, heated to 25 °C, and at the first stage, extraction is carried out under vacuum, after which the extract is drained. Remaining mass is repeatedly wetted with 50 % water-ethanol solution, heated to 25 °C and extraction is carried out under vacuum, after which the extract is drained. Obtained mass at the third stage is wetted with distilled water and extraction is carried out at modulus of 1 kg/2 l for 30 minutes at relative pressure of (−0.82)... (−0.83) kgf/cm2, after which the extract is also drained. Obtained extracts are combined and concentrated in a vacuum, and the thick extract is dried to a dry state. Before extraction, dried narrow-leaved lupine seeds are milled to particle size of 1 mm. Water-ethanol extraction at the first and second stages is carried out under vacuum at relative pressure (−0.83) kgf/cm2 for 30 minutes at extraction module 1 kg/4 l. Combined extracts are concentrated in a vacuum at a relative pressure of (−0.82)... (−0.83) kgf/cm2, at temperature of 25 °C, to a moisture content of 20% with constant stirring. Thick extract is dried in a vacuum contact infrared chamber with a vacuum depth of (−0.83) kgf/cm2 for 30 minutes.
EFFECT: proposed method of producing dry extract of dried narrow-leaved lupine seeds enables to optimize modes of water-ethanol extraction and drying, reduce consumption of reagents and duration of the process, increase yield and quality, lower costs of subsequent cleaning, concentrating, and drying of the resulting product.
