FIELD: beverage preparation devices.
SUBSTANCE: coffee machine has an external mounting hole to which a coffee vessel can be detachably attached. Water supply head is positionally fixed relative to the main body of the coffee machine, and the ramming system is used to displace the vessel for coffee (or part thereof) relative to the water supply head so as to provide for compaction of ground coffee contained in the coffee vessel.
EFFECT: coffee machine has a built-in ramming system, which enables to prepare espresso coffee, due to which ramming can be carried out reliably and with high repeatability.
