FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement of spectral distribution of high-intensity pulsed neutron radiation in mixed fields of gamma-neutron radiation. Essence of the invention is that in the first plate of the high-intensity pulsed neutron radiation spectrometer there accumulated is a positive charge of recoil protons passing through a cellular collimator, and negative charge of stopped secondary high-energy electrons. Thickness of the first plate of the collector exceeds the range of recoil protons with maximum energy; therefore, only the negative charge of the stopped secondary high-energy electrons is accumulated in the second plate. Plates are electrically insulated and connected through a subtraction circuit to electrical measuring instruments. Negative charges of stopped secondary high-energy electrons in the first and second plates are mutually compensated, and the resultant signal is caused only by the action of protons, which contain information on the spectrum of primary neutrons.
EFFECT: reduced sensitivity of spectrometer to accompanying gamma-radiation in fields of mixed gamma-neutron radiation.
