FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in lever mechanisms of thermal engines. Method of combined movement of pistons in two-piston engine consists in the fact that reciprocating movement of pistons (1), (2) along guides is converted into rotary movement of driven cranks (11), (12). Pistons (1), (2) are moved along guides located in one plane on one vertical straight line, and impart to them joint movement in the same direction for both pistons with different variable speeds. When moving pistons (1), (2) in both directions, upper piston (1) is moved at a higher speed than lower piston (2) to increase the working volume between these pistons at their joint movement in one direction or to reduce the working volume between these pistons at their joint opposite movement to the other side. Disclosed is a mechanical device for combined movement of pistons (1), (2) in a two-piston engine.
EFFECT: simplified design, decreased overall dimensions of the engine.
