FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: multi-piston engine contains a mechanical conversion device with a rack for converting the reciprocating motion of the pistons into rotational motion of the output shaft. The converting device is made in the form of an assembly of two three-hinged two-arm crank levers (2, 3) coaxially mounted on the rack (1), which intersect with each other and with the rack (1) at one common point and in each of which all three hinges are located on one straight line. Two-arm crank levers (2, 3) are connected to each of the pistons (4, 5) by two connecting rods (6, 7) of the same length symmetrically mounted relative to the rack (1), connected in pairs to each of the pistons through a double cylindrical hinge.
EFFECT: simplifying the device design, reducing the dimensions of the engine and the complexity of its manufacture, increasing the load capacity and expanding the operational capabilities of the drive of two coaxially mounted and oppositely rotating output shafts with different working bodies.
